New Spool steel spools for welding wire, initially just the type BS300 and BS200 “basket spool”, which have met the expectations of our clients from all over the world.
After few years New Spool acquired the Swedish company Gavle Trad AB, which was the machine’s manufacturer for this kind of spools, and consequently increased substantially its production capacity and became a machine manufacturer, continuing the activity of Gavle Trad with its acknowledge and 40 year experience. New Spool acquired many other machineries that permitted us to expand its products variety in order to be more flexible and to satisfy the costumers with a large range of metal spools (all the K series).
In order to create products with an added value, it is very important for New Spool to listen and satisfy the clients expectations. Our capability of interacting with our clients, determining their actual needs, and supplying high quality product services allows us to have an advantageous position within the market.
On these elements New Spool bases its strategy, the capacity and the ability to give quick and tangible answers to the requirements of the market. Dedication and professionalism, these are the characteristics that in time brought New Spool to become one of the most important centers of production of spools for the European and international market.
The machine for producing the BS spools have been further developed and adjustments of the spools have been made to even improve the properties. One of the features making the BS spool the quality leader of existing wire spools is the geometry and tight tolerances.
 This gives the BS spool an outstanding stability that will allow the spool to carry up to 27 kg of wire with extremely good winding and unwinding properties. It also makes it possible to have a close and regular control of the measures in production, which is not the case for other wire spools.
The usage of plastic spools is decreasing rapidly. The main reason is environmental requirements in the recycling process. Plastic spools are also brittle and transportation damages frequent. The BS spool meets all the existing environmental requirements.
The BS spool is especially suited for layer winding. This is due mainly to the narrow measures and tight tolerances, which provides precision in winding and unwinding for all commonly, used wire diameters.
Presently fully automatic winding machines are frequently used in the welding industry. The BS spool has proved to perform extremely well in such machines. The stable and precise BS spool provides high speed winding which offers improved productivity and better economy by up to 10%.
The BS spool is easy to handle in every respect. When mounting the spool to welding machine no adapter is needed since the hole diameter will fit the hub of the feed unit. The narrow tolerances will guarantee the fitness from one spool to another.
The BS and K spools are made out of copper drawn wire, which provides good rust protection. Again, you will find the BS spool all over the world, being used in many countries and also being produced outside Italy. The BS spool has been acknowledged besides in Europe in Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Japan, South America, USA and Canada. People using the BS spool has one thing in common, they are very much quality minded. People using the K spool in the other hand, prefer a cheaper product.
During the year 2015, New Spool worked hard to get certificated in quality system ISO 9001 and environmental management ISO 14001.
